Lube Oil Consumption Report

Perform the following test to determine the cause of excessive oil consumption:‪

1. Operate vehicle for 5,000 miles, 500 hours, or one oil change period, whichever occurs first.
2. Fill out lube oil consumption report, Form #DA-94.
   1. If engine consumed 7 qts or less of oil, oil consumption is within normal range. No further troubleshooting is required.
   2. If engine consumes more than 7 qts of oil, call Detroit Diesel Technical Service Group.
