Maintenance of Vehicle Engines

Vehicle engine components must be maintained at various intervals.‪

Section 13.3.1
6,000 Miles (10,000 km) Interval Maintenance

Every 6,000 miles (10,000 km), the following components must be inspected, serviced, corrected or replaced as necessary:‪

• Lubricating oil. Refer to "13.4.1 Lubricating Oil" for lubricating oil replacement.
• Battery. Refer to "13.4.8 Battery" for battery inspection.
• Drive belts. Refer to "13.4.6 Drive Belts" for drive belt(s) inspection.
• Cooling system. Refer to "13.4.5 Cooling System" for cooling system inspection.
• Lubricating oil filter. Refer to "13.4.2 Lubricating Oil Filter" for lubricating oil filter replacement.
• Water pump and coolant inhibitor. Refer to "13.4.11 Water Pump and Coolant Inhibitor" for water pump and coolant inhibitor inspection.
• Cranking motor. Refer to "13.4.12 Cranking Motor" for cranking motor inspection.
• Exhaust system. Refer to "13.4.14 Exhaust System" for exhaust system inspection.

12,000 Miles (19,000 km) Interval Maintenance

Every 12,000 miles (19,000 km), the following components must be inspected, serviced, corrected or replaced as necessary:‪

• Fuel tank. Refer to "13.4.3 Fuel and Fuel Tank" for fuel and fuel tank inspection.
