Assembly of Electronic Foot Pedal
The Electronic Foot Pedal Assembly (EFPA) connects the accelerator pedal to a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). See Figure "Electronic Foot Pedal" . The TPS is a device that sends an electrical signal to the ECM. The signal varies in voltage according to the pressure on the pedal. The system is installed in the space normally occupied by the mechanical foot pedal. The EFPA has maximum and minimum stops that are built into the unit during manufacture.
