This test is typically for Injector Cylinder #5 Control Valve Circuit Shorted to Battery.‪

Injector Cylinder #5 Control Valve Circuit Shorted to Battery

Check as follows:‪

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the MCM 120–pin connector (if using J-48475 breakout box and appropriate overlay, only hook up the MCM side connector).
  3. Turn the ignition ON.

  4. Measure the voltage between pin 20 of the MCM 120–pin connector and ground. See Figure "Injector #5" .
    1. If voltage is present, contact the Detroit Diesel Customer Support Center at 313–592–5800 for MCM authorization.
    2. If no voltage is present, repair short to power between MCM 120–pin connector pin 20 and injector #5. See Figure "Injector #5" .
