Section 10.7.1
EGR Coolant Inlet Tube Removal
Remove the EGR coolant inlet tube as follows (see Figure "EGR Coolant Inlet Tube and Related Components" for componet locations):

PERSONAL INJURY |
To avoid injury from scalding, drain the radiator when the engine and coolant are cool. |
- Drain coolant.
- Remove EGR delivery pipe. Refer to "10.9.1 EGR Delivery Pipe Removal" .
- Loosen the hose clamps on the coolant hose. See Figure "EGR Coolant Inlet Tube and Related Components" .
- Remove the two bolts from the brackets securing the coolant inlet tube.
- Remove the coolant inlet tube from the coolant hose and the water pump. Remove and discard seal from tube.
Section 10.7.2
EGR Coolant Inlet Tube Installation
Install the EGR coolant inlet tube as follows (See Figure "EGR Coolant Inlet Tube and Related Components" for component locations):
- Lubricate new coolant inlet tube seal with lubricant (order number 000 989 11 60) and install on inlet tube.
- Inspect the coolant hose for damage and replace if required.
- Install inlet tube in hose and at water pump and secure with bolts at clamps. Tighten bolts to 31-35 N·m (23-26 lb·ft) and tighten hose clamps.
- Install EGR delivery pipe. Refer to "10.8.2 EGR Coolant Return Tube Installation" .
- Fill engine with fresh coolant to required level.
- Test engine for leaks, refer to "10.5.2.1 Testing Engine for Leaks" and perform the required steps.
