DDEC III/IV Single ECM Troubleshooting – Section 83.1 Description of Flash Code 83

Section 83.1
Description of Flash Code 83

Flash Code 83 is used to identify exhaust temperature, or external pump pressure high.‪

Flash Code 83 is used to identify EGR Delta-Pressure high, or EGR temperature high. These conditions are typically due to:‪

  • EGR valve stuck open
  • EGR valve stuck partly open

For EGR valve assembly, see Figure "EGR Exhaust-to-Rear Assembly, Series 50 Engine" , Series 50 engines. For Series 60 engines, see Figure "Delta-P Sensor and Related Parts, Series 60 Engine" .‪
