Oil Pump Drive Gear
The drive gear for the oil pump must be replaced, not repaired.

Oil Pump Drive Gear Removal
Remove the old oil pump drive gear as follows:
- Remove the engine from the vehicle.
BODILY INJURY
To avoid injury from a falling component, ensure a proper lifting device is used. Never stand beneath a suspended load.
- Remove the crankshaft from the engine. Refer to "1.6.1 Crankshaft Removal"

BURNS
To avoid injury from burning, use lifting tools and heat-resistant gloves when handling heated components.
- Heat the oil pump drive gear to 200°C (392°F).
- Using a suitable puller, remove the oil pump drive gear from the front end of the crankshaft. See Figure

Section 1.8.2
Oil Pump Drive Gear Installation
Install the new oil pump drive gear as follows:

To avoid injury from burning, use lifting tools and heat-resistant gloves when handling heated components. |
- Heat the new oil pump drive gear to 200°C (392°F).
- Press the gear onto the end of the crankshaft. Make sure the chamfer on the gear is facing outward. See Figure
