Camshaft Position Sensor
The Camshaft Position Sensor, formerly the TDC Sensor, is located at the left front side flywheel housing. It is located above the air compressor. See Figure "Location of Camshaft Position Sensor" . The Camshaft Position Sensor should be replaced when the sensor fails to operate.

Section 2.12.1
Camshaft Position Sensor Removal
Remove the Camshaft Position Sensor as follows:
Note: If the air compressor is still attached to the engine at this point, is may be necessary to remove the compressed air lines before removing the Camshaft Position Sensor. See Figure "Air Compressor Air Line Attachments" .

- Remove the air compressor air lines, if necessary. Refer to "10.1.1 Air Compressor Removal" .
- Pull out the Camshaft Position Sensor at the crankcase.
- If inoperable, discard the sensor.
- Discard the O-ring.
Section 2.12.2
Camshaft Position Sensor Installation
Install the Camshaft Position Sensor as follows:
- Replace O-ring.
- Press in the new Camshaft Position Sensor until it makes contact with the camshaft sprocket.
- If the air compressor lines were removed, install them.
