Description of Flash Code 31
Flash Code 31 indicates the engine brake low or medium circuit has an open or is shorted to battery ground.
This diagnostic condition is typically:
- Output circuit open
- Output wire is shorted to ground
Flash Code 31 can also indicate a fault with the PWM valve or EGR solenoid when DDEC is programmed for the EGR system.
For all EGR related codes, always perform the basic checks in EGR-1. Refer to "10.16 Exhaust Gas Recirculation System (EGR-1) – Fault, Series 50 Engine" .
