Description of Flash Code 73

Flash Code 73 is used for many faults. ‪

• When used with the Engine Synchronous Shift (ESS) system on diesel fuel engines, this code indicates a fault was detected by the ECM, see Figure "ECM" , of the input from the shift knob or Neutral Switch. It also indicates the limits for the maximum air inlet restriction have been exceeded.
• When used in a gas-fueled engine, the code indicates a gas valve position fault.
