Section 15.9.1
Removal of Ignition Coil Harness
Remove the ignition coil harness as follows:
- Pull the connectors of the ignition coil harness from the two coil packs.
- Disconnect the ignition coil harness from the 12 volt power supply. See Figure "Ignition Coil Harness Location" .
- Disconnect the ignition coil harness from the ECM.
- Unscrew the harness clips from the cylinder block.
Section 15.9.1.1
Cleaning of Ignition Coil Harness
Clean the ignition coil harness as follows:
EYE INJURY |
To avoid injury from flying debris when using compressed air, wear adequate eye protection (face shield or safety goggles) and do not exceed 276 kPa (40 psi) air pressure. |
- Remove loose dirt and debris form the connectors on the ignition coil harness, coil packs, 12 volt power supply, and ECM with compressed air.
- Inspect the ignition coil harness. Refer to "15.9.1.2 Inspection of Ignition Coil Harness" .
Section 15.9.1.2
Inspection of Ignition Coil Harness
Inspect the ignition coil harness as follows:
- Visually check the coil harness for damage.
- If damage is found, replace as necessary.
- If no damage is found, reuse components.
Section 15.9.2
Installation of Ignition Coil Harness
Install the ignition coil harness as follows:
- Press the connectors of the ignition coil harness onto the two coil packs.
- Connect the ignition coil harness to the 12 volt power supply. See Figure
"Ignition Coil Harness 12 Volt Supply"
.
